Evaluation of Pancreatic and Abdominal Mass

A 58 year old male with a history of colon cancer had a CT scan that showed a hypodensity adjacent to the head of the pancreas and a mass in the right abdomen. A PET scan was ordered to further evaluate the patient.

The PET scan showed that the mass adjacent to the pancreas and the mass in the abdomen were hypermetabolic and highly suspicious for malignancy.

PET correctly demonstrated the mass near the pancreas and in the abdomen as malignant.
